HOSTING A HALLOWEEN PARTY
Whether you have an adult Halloween costume party or a children’s party, you want it to be the best it can be. With the right planning, you can make this years party the best ever!
ADULT HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY
With some planning, you can have a great party. You’ll need to plan invitations, food, drink, decorations and music. Decide on if you want a theme, say, Vampires, the 50′s, Famous Monsters of Hollywood or something else. Will you giveĀ prize to the best dressed person or couple? You’ll need prizes of some kind.
You’ll have to plan your food and rink around how many people you invite. Smaller numbers might get away with snacks rather than a meal. You can find all kinds of food ideas at Wanda’s Halloween Cookbook. Recipes for main meals, dips, pies and more can be found here.
Decorating can be costly so check discount stores for Halloween decor. You’ll find plenty of paper plates designed for Halloween and everything to go with them. Inexpensive decorations are plentiful at this time of year as well. You’ll find some ideas in the Dark Decor section of this magazine to help you out.
Looking for the perfect costume ideas? Check out the
Make-up and Costume sections here as well. If you throw a couples party, there are lots of couples costumes to choose from this year. You don’t have to have a theme, let people come dressed as they want. It will make for an interesting party to see what people dress up as on the one night a year they can be anything they want to be

CHILDREN’S HALLOWEEN COSTUME PARTY
You can basically use the ideas for the adult party and scale them down for kids. Add some games in to keep them busy. You’ll find many in our Party Games section. If Halloween is on a week day, have the party the week-end before. Afternoon is a good time for the party but night time makes a Halloween party a bit creepier for kids. Have a scavenger hunt in the back yard, tell spooky stories around a fire. Make it a party the kids will never forget!
